Preparations are well underway for our upcoming Bicycle Leadership Conference to be held once again in beautiful Monterey, California. Our conference committee is hard at work planning an exceptional series of sessions that we’re confident will stir conversation within your organizations on how to challenge ourselves and our staff in this changing marketplace.
Our 2016 conference tackled some of the most relevant trending topics – not just in the bicycle industry – but in the overall world of commerce:
- Jerry Stritzke (REI) reminded us that “when it’s right, be bold” and that our organizations must face our brutal truths head on before we can make real progress
- Marshal Cohen (NPD) took us through the events unfolding at retail and how the bicycle industry is faring in this rapidly evolving retail landscape
- Influential entrepreneur and American writer Ben Casnocha opened our eyes on how to retain today’s top talent through the idea of “tours of duty” versus simply having full-time jobs
- Omnichannel approaches were presented by Pure Fix’s Michael Fishman, Columbia Sportswear’s Russ Hopcus and Erik’s Bike Shop owner Erik Saltvold
Our conference theme for this year is “Overcoming Our Brutal Truths.” With the bicycle market evolving from simply change in new products each year to more dramatic shifts, our 2017 conference sessions are sure to inspire you and leave you with lists of actions you can take to make your business stronger now and in the future.
I hope you’ll take advantage of both our conference and networking opportunities with other industry leaders and attend our 2017 Bicycle Leadership Conference!
See you then,
BPSA Board President
